Hydrofluoric Acid Recovery Technology

Hydrofluoric acid is a highly corrosive and toxic inorganic acid widely used in electronics, metallurgy, chemicals, and other industries. For example, in the semiconductor and microelectronics industry, it is used as an etchant for silicon, silicon dioxide, and glass, and as a cleaning agent to remove metal surface oxides and silicon wafer impurities. In metal processing and surface treatment, it is used for stainless steel pickling and aluminum treatment. In petrochemicals, it serves as a catalyst for the alkylation of isobutane with butene. In the nuclear industry, it is used for uranium purification and nuclear fuel processing.

The use of hydrofluoric acid generates large quantities of waste liquid. Due to the strong corrosiveness and toxicity of hydrofluoric acid, which can cause significant harm to both the environment and human health, the waste liquid must be strictly treated. Traditional methods for hydrofluoric acid recovery include chemical precipitation, distillation, and solvent extraction. These conventional methods have drawbacks such as high energy consumption, high chemical consumption, and being environmentally unfriendly. Therefore, developing an efficient, energy-saving, and environmentally friendly hydrofluoric acid recovery technology is of great significance and broad application prospects. The membrane separation technology developed by Guochu Technology for hydrofluoric acid recovery not only has low energy consumption but also requires no addition of any chemicals, making it a green and environmentally friendly technology for hydrofluoric acid purification and recovery.

The process of using the selective separation function of a membrane to separate, purify, and concentrate different components of a feed solution is called membrane separation. Unlike conventional filters, membranes can perform separation on a molecular scale, and the process is physical, involving no phase change or addition of any auxiliary agents. The hydrofluoric acid purification membrane utilizes the permselectivity of the membrane to allow hydrofluoric acid to permeate through while rejecting other impurity ions, thereby achieving the purification and recovery of hydrofluoric acid.

The process flow is as follows:

Hydrofluoric acid membrane purification technology has the following features:

Simple installation and use, easy maintenance
